Sun Tzu opens not with tactics but with intelligence. Before any engagement, the strategic leader maps five factors with brutal honesty: the moral cause, the environmental conditions, the terrain, the command authority, and the doctrine in play.

You will apply this Five Factors framework to your most complex current leadership challenge — and leave with a diagnostic tool you will use for the rest of your career.

The second half of Session 1 addresses Sun Tzu's most famous and most misunderstood principle: winning without direct confrontation. Not passivity — strategic positioning. The moves that make outcomes inevitable before the battle begins.
